The mental health peer mentoring course supports people who have experienced mental health to build their knowledge and skills in peer mentoring. This will enable them to use their mental health experience to positively support others with mental health difficulties. This results in participants being more socially connected; it gives people the opportunity to talk about their experience without stigma and taboo and the opportunity to develop opportunities for employment and training.
This course is for anyone 19+ from disadvantaged communities, particularly individuals with complex needs who experience mental health difficulties, live in Westminster or RBKC and not in employment, education or training.
We will be registering individuals with lived mental health experience for the peer mentoring course on the taster sessions. These session will give an insight into peer mentoring and how it helps widen their skill set to go into further training, volunteering opportunities and employment.
